Scholarship Guidelines
Objective:
Provide a worthy student from South Carolina, who plans to attend Talladega College, with a onetime Scholarship which will not exceed one thousand dollars at the end of the first semester.
Goal:
Awardee will receive Scholarship funds no later than the end of first semester of their
freshman year. Scholarship may be distributed directly to student or sent to Financial Aid
Office.
Standard:
In order to receive the scholarship, the awardee must ensure the South Carolina Alumni Chapter receive proof of enrollment directly from Talladega College.
Application Process:
Application and information letter will be sent to South Carolina High School Guidance Counselors for distribution to senior students who intend to attend Talladega College.
Applicants must complete and return application to South Carolina Alumni Chapter no later than March 30th of their senior year.
Application must be accompanied by a certified copy of applicant transcript and at least three letters of reference from non-family members.
Application and transcript shall be reviewed by a board of at least three members of the South Carolina Alumni Chapter.
Selection of awardee must be completed and Guidance Counselor of selected student notified no later than last day of April of that school year.
Non-selection Process:
If no applicant meet Chapter requirements, then scholarship shall be carried over to the next selection period. If carried over Chapter shall decide to award one or two scholarships for that year.
